GUWAHATI, Oct 18 – The search for the injurious part of the traditional tamol (the combination of betel nut and betel leaf) of the Northeastern (NE) people has perhaps ended. A recent research has pointed to the innocuous–looking lime these people use with the tamol, for the felony of causing head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) that has emerged as the killer disease for many of the tamol-chewing NE people.
