Download link for Google chrome

September 2nd, 2008 2:58 pm by TheHumanBot

You prolly know it already! Google announced a web browser yesterday. Beta download will available sometime today.

Download should be available from this link which is not live yet but soon should!

Since I was busy yesterday, I am still catching up on my reading lists. On a quick scan, this seems like a big benefit:

Google Chrome uses a new process for each tab. “We’re applying the same isolation you find in modern operating systems,” says Arnaud Weber. Each process is sandboxed to prevent malware from affecting your computer.

Via Google Operation System

I hope this will also mean when one tab hangs, the whole browser won’t!

I am not impressed. Chrome uses IE internet settings.

I need FF add-ons Quick Proxy every day to easily turn proxy setting on/off.

I dont know what setting you are talking about when you mentioned that it takes ie setting… as for me my homepage is different… default search engine is different and then default download location is different.. I dont use proxy so I dont know if it uses the NETWORK settings from IE. I just use default.

the problem for me is at work I use a proxy (not 3rd party, our proxy accessible only from company network). at home I use direct connection.

“quick proxy” FF add on helps to quickly turn this on/off just by clicking an icon in the status bar.

overall chrome is very simple just like other Google Product. Now I ask whats the need for all the menus in IE and FF.

I am also really impress with the “+” button to open a new tab. we frequent users do ^Tab but for normal users, they need to go a long way navigation the menu to open a fresh blank.

here is is way to simple and easy!!!

I have been using Google to do arithmetic for years.
Now I can do it from the address bar itself.
    Enter an expression (10/30) * 1000
you need not hit enter since the result it displayed instantly

“If you’ve only got IE7 installed on your machine Chrome will even default to Microsoft’s Live Search as the default search engine, asking you if you’d like to change it. The assumption is that your computer is setup the way you want it to be and Google isn’t going to force its services on you – competition is best done based on merit, not by manipulating the market.”

Incognito mode , Cntrl+ O, History page and if you check the task manager all tabs open in a separate process as Ben had hoped btw it has its own task manager , i think i’m going to like this.
