This Sunday’s sermon by Pu Dika at the Bangalore service was quite interesting esp. because personally I think he says it as it is, and is not afraid of calling a spade a spade. An interesting observation he made that got me thinking – he mentioned that nowadays most Mizos have a poor opinion of pastors (and the Synod too to a certain extent). It is true that sometimes we speak disparagingly about them, but is there any one single cause behind the view people have nowadays as compared to the recent past (30-40 years ago) when they were highly regarded?
One that I can think of is the hypocrisy in that corrupt people who give a donations to the church are given the status of ‘upa’ – while in the same breath the church talks against corruption. Anything else? I know this is a controversial topic, but would be interesting to know why .

Apart from embracing corruption, secularism, lack of faith, materialism, absence of fear of God, internal rivalry, and other signs of ungodliness could be some of the reason. But I also appreacite Mr.Dika. He knows.
