(on behalf of Shahnaz Kimi)
I am looking for a research assistant to help me with my research in Mizoram from Feb to April 2010. The candidate must speak Mizo, ready to live in villages, and have a degree in either anthropology, history or sociology.
The candidate will not only assist me, but he/she will gain valuable knowledge on research methods (qualitative and quantitative methods including visual ethnography) for their future academic life.
If the successful candidate is interested, he/she will be employed further for my second phase of research, which is planned from September – December 2010.
He/she will also act as a guide for few students from various universities who might come to Mizoram to do their field trip/survey with me either in the first or second phase of my research. (Depending on the Restricted Area permit)
Successful candidate will be suitably rewarded and female candidates are encouraged to apply. I will send the job description to the applicants. Candidate(s) who can drive on Mizoram roads might have an advantage, as I plan to be mobile with my own car/jeep.If you are interested, please send me your CV at shahnaz_kimi@hotmail.com

@ No-member: So if I write to her, then people might have the same doubt and ask her again, hence filling her inbox with an avalanche of queries. Isn’t it better this way, since she visits misual.com regularly anyway?

Pu Kim – Yes, only those who have degree in social science(s) but restricted to the subjects mentioned.
@funny – I am sorry that my name is a sore to your eyes…watever!
Pu Mzvision – ka phur lutuk…ka lawm e.
I am in particular looking for a serious junior scholar who is looking for an opportunity to learn from someone who can guide them for their future academic life. The salary is not huge as I will be on scholarship too, but this is an opportunity to learn from a serious scholar and also for me to build a team (starting with one, and perhaps more in the second phase) to promote/ expose the Mizo culture and heritage in an anthropological manner.
Gender is not an issue, but I will give preference to candidates who have lesser opportunity (ies) than us, be it male or female. Driving license is an advantage, but not a criteria. I will hire a driver anyway, should there be a need.
