what did Chidambaram say yesterday???…reconsider using IAF against the Naxals! before we make ‘us’centric posts, i think it’s wiser to research into what we want to write and discuss. The Indian government definitely had committed many atrocious acts against us(mizo) and we too as citizens have wronged the state and we do not stick to many of our duties as part of the union. There may have been certain degrees of arbitrary actions and we often feel neglected and treated as second class citizens…but we must look into the kind of mechanisms that we use in trying to come to terms with the past and deal with maybe present situations…for we may harm ourselves, as a community if we continue to use the US and THEM dichotomy, mizo and vai oppositions et al. Moreover, we keep on victimising ourselves by comparing issues like the naxalbari movement to the mizo national movement of the 60s…we need to look at the context and nature and see the differences and stop generalising it. We are harming ourselves in the name of being very sure of one’s own identity as a mizo and patriotic souls.Rather, we have to worry about ourselves as a community and how and what we are going to be as a society! thanks
