POEM ON HEALTH
1
There stood in the heart of town, a big mansion,
Parked in front of it, were cars of latest fashion;
It’s the home of the richest man in town built anew,
All dressed in black, people made a mournful queue;
The coffin of the rich man being walked out in a cortege,
Dressed in best attire his mortal remains – a garbage;
Died of lung cancer, too much smoking, the reason,
He was only forty-five, too early to die in life’s season;
“What is wealth without health?” I asked myself.
2.
Near the mansion stood a poor humble cottage,
There lived a carpenter, sixty-five years of age;
Struggling all his life trying to make both ends meet,
The elements so mixed in him, it’s agreed,
In the whole locality, he was the strongest man still,
It was his superb health that made him a man of steel;
There he paid the last tribute to his rich neighbor,
Walking beside the black coffin he had made with skilful labor.
“Health is wealth, indeed!” I said to myself.
3.
Charmed with striking beauty, she’s God’s masterpiece,
In looks and form, she’s beyond compare, a rare species:
There she was lying, fighting for life, on her sick bed,
A poor victim of sickness, she was half dead;
Her beautiful face shrunken, far beyond recognition,
The flawless body now reduced to a skeleton;
Her alluring eyes buried deep beneath her brow,
She was only twenty-two, to death she was surrendering now.
“What’s beauty without health?” I asked myself.
4.
I was jogging in the field one early morning,
Gazelle-like, I saw a damsel swiftly running;
She was the golden girl, the best of runners as late,
Who had brought many medals home for our state.
Solid body, her countenance was rather unlovely,
To take part and win the race, she chose to be ugly;
Price was paid, she ran the race, done was her duty,
With her strength, speed, stamina and skill, she gave our state beauty.
“Health is indeed Beauty!” I told myself.
5.
He was best known for his academic feats,
Second to none, in every intellectual deeds;
His education, worthy investment for his parents,
With his mental faculty, par excellence.
Ailing body, always not the best home for a sound mind,
He was having nervous breakdown, the worst of its kind;
He’s half-mind, half-awake, half-alive, half-human,
When all the best in life were awaiting him with arms wide open.
“What is brain without health?”I asked myself.
6.
When we have good health, we have the richest wealth,
But there’s a price we must pay, to promote our health;
Our bodies are like motor cars, for a life-long race,
Right oil and right care keep the cars fit for ace;
Sweat, toil, right food, timely care will keep our bodies well,
With no spare parts, when health is lost, life soon becomes hell.
We think we can have fun and joy with earthly wealth,
Even if I’m the richest guy in the world, what if, I lost my health?
“Have good health, enjoy life!” – My conclusion.

When Wealth is lost, something is lost!
When Health is lost, something is lost!
But when Hope is lost, everything is lost!
*So even if you’re not healthy, just keep the faith.*

Get heatlh check regularly. Do not wait for symptoms to come. There is no 100% quarantee, but you can increase your chances. It is not enough to be in good health. You must drive carefully, avoid smoking,avoid dangerous palces and risky games, eat and sleep regularly and always be positive in life.

This Poem is really simple,for it is all about what we can see around us everyday. It is something that everybody is familiar with. Both the poor & rich similarly knew about it, and both the educated & un-educated.This is what everyone will understand just by reading once & with un-doubted ease.
But, the master piece lies in putting up all the words together,which is an easy say then done.
Well written, really like it.
