Facebook Phone: It’s Real, and Official
Rumors that Facebook is working with phone manufacturers to create an Android-based Facebook phone have come true. British-based phone manufacturer INQ revealed two Android phones featuring tight integration with Facebook, while HTC, which owns INQ, is also said to work on a more high-end Facebook phone, too.
The INQ Cloud TouchThe INQ Cloud Touch runs on Android 2.2 with a highly customized interface based on Facebook features. You can sign in with your Facebook account, pull all your contacts in, and integrate home screen shortcuts to Facebook Chat, Friends, Messages and Wall. The Cloud Touch has a 3.5-inch display, while a smaller version of the phone, the Cloud Q, has a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.6-inch screen. There is no Facebook branding on the device.

NEW YORK (AP) — Google Inc. and Facebook Inc. have both held low-level talks with Twitter Inc. about purchasing the social networking service, according to a report published Thursday.
The talks have valued Twitter at $8 billion to $10 billion, according to unnamed sources cited by The Wall Street Journal. The sources said the company had 2010 revenue of $45 million but lost money as it hired and invested in data centers, according to the Journal.
Investors have shown keen interest in social networking services in recent months. Last month, daily coupon website Groupon raised $950 million in financing after reportedly turning down Google’s offer to purchase it for $6 billion. Facebook is also said to have received $500 million in new funding last month.
Twitter and Facebook declined to comment. Google did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment
