The Ukulele, ( /ˌjuːkəˈleɪliː/ ew-kə-lay-lee;[1] from Hawaiian: ʻukulele [ˈʔukuˈlɛlɛ]; variantly spelled ukelele in the UK), sometimes abbreviated to uke, is a chordophone classified as a plucked lute; it is a subset of the guitar family of instruments, generally with four nylon or gut strings or four courses of strings.[2]

Sandman, ti hian chhang ta mai che:
My Dear Jodie,
There is no place in Mizoram where ukulele is really popular. Till about two decades ago, Spanish guitar was very popular but not so today. It was not easy to get ukulele or Hawaii guitar even in earlier times. And the type of music Mizo people like was not really for ukulele. But thanks for your message. Take care.

Yes, ukulele was popular two or three decades ago in Mizoram, especially in rural areas. Under a romantic moonlit on top of the country (village) hill, play ukulele and sing Mizo country love song, you bet, which girl’s heart will not melt!. But now, we seldom use this instrument.
