A second-year MA student from the department of economics at Panjab University (PU) — V Thuhril Sanga, 22, a native of Mizoram -was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his room in hostel no 6 on the campus on Wednesday afternoon.
The doctors ruled out suicide, but the cause of death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem examination that would be conducted on Thursday.
Sanga was spotted by his friend in the hostel room around 1.30pm. According to PU authorities, Sanga was found sitting stiff on a chair with blood oozing from his nose. In front of him were an unfinished plate of noodles and an open cold drink bottle.
Police said they would decide the course of action after the post-mortem report. DSP (central) Ashish Kapoor said “There are no injury marks on the body. The post-mortem will be videographed. We have not ruled out foul play.”
