I’ve never liked Yahoo! Answers when someone recommended it. According to Scripps Howard’s News Service, Yahoo! Answers is a disaster. In my opinion, Yahoo! Answers is full of chat-happy posters and members who have no regard for the rules/guidelines.
Q: On your recommendation, I tried the Yahoo Answers site and was disappointed by the level of the questions and the amount of spam on the site. It seemed like everyone was taking it as a joke.
A. Me, too. Right after my column a few weeks ago the site was inundated with people, many of whom have paid no attention to the guidelines. It has turned into a chat room and doesn’t come close to rivaling Google Answers. If they ever hire enough moderators, I will let you know. But in the meantime the site is a disaster.
I guess nothing beats Ask MetaFilter.

I dont have anything against chat-happy posters. Its fun sometimes. But for a site, the scale of Yahoo! Answers, where people are really looking for answers, it becomes really annoying.

Yea.. Good answers is ok with that, but having to pay the author of the right answer , me thinks stop its explosion. Perhaps, you could always deny that the ans is right to avoid the payment hehe

You dont really have to ‘pay’ anything as such. You just select the best answer and the ‘answerer’ gets 10 points. You also get 3 point for choosing a best answer. If you do not choose, it will be chosen by vote and the answerer of the ‘chosen one’ still gets 10 points.
