She is certainly the greatest Mizo so far, looking at the dearth of world champions in the whole of India, her achievements are almost undescribable. Let us hope she made an encore at the Beijing Olympics.

The banner is too small. It should have been 200 feet long by 45 feet long. The red rug is not installed properly. This is not the best way to hail world boxing champion. Why was the audience not giving her standing ovation when she was receiving flowers from whoever ?

Sorry, 200 feet long by 45 feet high. That size is what world champions deserve. When a Kenyan (or was it Ethiopian) lady won gold medal in sprint, her government gave her Mercedes Banz S320 (about Rs. 35 lakhs in India) and some $million.

She’s from Dinthar….was in hockey earlier….played as goalie. In 2000 there was a big boxing competition in Aizawl organised by the Sports & Youth dept and she got into that and the rest as they say, is history.
Dinthar Veng ho an hot khawp an tih kha nimin lam chu.
