Hmar National Union is a political party not an insurgent group. Contrary to some media reports, HPC-D is not a Manipur/Assam originated Hmar insurgent group, it is a Mizoram-based insurgent group.

Sangkhuma was the man who spearheaded the HNLF(Hmar National Liberation Front)in Cachar,Assam in the 1990s and as such his involvement with the shootout in Mizoram is questionable.After all,a man in his 60s and confined in Assam is unlikely to participate in the recent revolutionary movement.For your kind information,the faction that Sangkhuma led in his golden era had no link with the present HPC(D) of today!!
But,if proved guilty,let them be hanged!!
Otherwise,it is not justified to keep innocent people under custody on the ground of suspicion.

Even, when the army/police who are supposed to track down such group prefer to be silent spectators in most cases, who would risk his live to condemn them… not so many.
