Mara Churches left out in Statistical Handbook

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Aizawl, Bangalore: The very existence of Mara Churches are missing from the latest handbook released by Mizoram state government in the form of ‘Mizoram Statistical Handbook’.

According to David M. Thangliana, one of the most revered journalists from the state, this handbook is the most comprehensive statistical data on Mizoram state(source: kanglaonline.com, zoram.org). However, many Maras are fuming as the Mara Churches’ data are missing from such comprehensive data of the state.

What we learned from school

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

If asked why we go to school, possible answers are –

*To get a job
*That’s what people do
*My parents sent me
*If I did not go to school, what else would I be doing?

Whatever is the reason, I don’t think anybody regrets going to school.

When you were in school, did you ask yourself why we study maps, Mathematics, countries and capitals, names of vegetables, the highways in the country etc?

The arrival of good trend

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Since “The end and the new beginning”, there apparently and silently happened another new beginning on its own.

If you observe, comments since the past few weeks have been very much up to the topic discussed. There are less or no off topic conversation. No more “me too” comments.

Having allowed guest comment for very long time, it was discontinued after much thinking. It is quite difficult to come to a conclusion on allowing guest comment. Lots of differences among the popular blogs. Some allow whereas others go to the extent of moderating every single comment.

Makes no sense buying Ipod Shuffle

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

I bought this Ipod way back in December from one shop in Alsa Mall, Egmore, Chennai. At the beginning, it seemed to work fine with a great sound. For a moment, I really enjoyed my new Ipod and I always carried with me where ever I was. I even brought it in the office and enjoyed the great sound every night. I always used to listen at the maximum volume to give me the best possible thrill.

To my surprise, the earphone did not last long. After a couple of months, the sound tended to reduce by and by. I have never heard the great sound produced by my lovely Ipod since then. The sound now sucks and is unacceptable when I compare with the amount I have paid for. I now find no difference with the one sold at Aizawl bazar for Rs 150/- which they called Congli.
