Alienating the North East

July 17th, 2007 10:25 am by trekkerboy

The movement towards integrating the NE to the rest of the country has not been helped at all by the ‘security tips’ that West Delhi police recently published for people from the North East. While it is true that provocative dresses may invite sexual attention and the advice to dress modestly is a sound one, telling them take care in what they cook and eat is not only out of taste that could destroy any feeling of belonging that NE people may have, but is also a violation of fundamental rights.

In Yesterday’s Editorial of Aizol Times, Pu dmt wrote against the booklet for North East people published by Delhi Police.

Either take them out or put something in the link. Nothing personal about this

What a response for “Alienating the North East” !!!!

In fact these Mainland Indians except kerelites, kill so much of their female population by dhowry death and female foeticide that there is less number of female population to match with the males, also the women folks pay so much high price to buy their husband that after married they don’t feel like satisfying their husband, so Indian men , married or un-married are all sex-starved that they cannot see not only women with revealing dress but also with proper salwar dress. I have seen lots of men trying to have nice time in the buses, i had seen with my own eyes in Delhi that more than three women hitting and shouting at men because of their sexual advances. NE or no NE with these mentality of men around i think we should take no chances.

As for our food, it will be difficult for Nagas and Manipuris to be without fermented Bamboo..i think we mizo don’t have much problem as we are not sooo fond of bekangs & Akhuni/saibum/Bastenga (all same fermented bamboo)

    @ benjamin

click on the download(mimirenthlei.com)—–>coming soon (wallpapers and ringtones), just a simple side message would do and not as a link. It’s not the first case i found in our mizo website, not that it will bother many people, nevertheless not a good thing to find in a well-designed site.

by the way, the site’s very good, beautiful design, good conceptualization, creativity …. good job.

We North East people will always have these kind of problems from our mainland counterparts. These mainland Indians must learn first from North East people to understand East Asian culture. Other wise the look East policy will always be merely a concept. I’ve seen many Indians who cannot adjust themselves to East Asian culture because they are too defensive and exclusive towards other culture. If they complain against the smell of our delicacies, we have more to say against their smell.
