Breaking news: Comment Policing!

February 24th, 2009 9:19 am by Sandman

Now misual.com admins & mods can be nailed and/or penalized for YOUR views in the comment section.

It will no longer be safe to start a blog and invite others to register their raunchy, caustic and even abusive comments on an issue while seeking protection behind the disclaimer — views expressed on the blog are that of the writers.

Source: TOI: Bloggers can be nailed for views

We will update you all on the latest developments. Right now various blog and discussion forum owners are waking up to this rude shock and many of us haven’t gone past the shock yet. Keep watching this space for more.

There goes the Freedom of Speech and Expression! Freedom of the Press has been suppressed as well in the past! Whats next? Freedom to practise religion?? And India calls itself the Worlds Largest Democracy, more like the Largest Hypocrisy! What a load of Bullcrap!!
Its like “Barkha Dutt forcing a blogger to take down blog post related to the Mumbai Incident and apologize” all over again.. Now they even have the Press thinking that there is no freedom of expression anymore.. Huiha!!

Socrates said “Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so”. We can boycott something because it hurts our sentiments, but its not right to ban it for everyone else.. Russell Peters makes fun of all ethnic races and they laugh, if either race does the same, there would be chaos.. Its just how the idea is being presented..
We can’t always expect to hear only good things about what we care about, we don’t live in an ideal world and sometimes, the truth is what we need to hear, no matter how painful, that is what makes us stronger..

    Sandman Says:

Right to Freedom of Expression is embodied in Article 19 in our Constitution. Do check out this site A-19 by the Manipal Institute of Communications, its very interesting. The workshop too just started today.

    https://article-19.com/index.html

Guest of Honour, Director-Consultant of Aikya Global Mr. Krishna Mariyanka talks:

The right to freedom of movement stops where another man’s nose starts. Let your mind think what you want. But, please communicate responsibly. Blogging is not social media, but a public communication. By way of coincidence, the Apex Court ruled that bloggers can be persecuted for what they say. The day you go out of meaningful dialogue; the judiciary steps in. Focus your thoughs, make informed expression. Fight issues objectively, and don’t get into mudslinging. If channeled and controlled well, this is the future of media.

Discuss, deliberate, talk and network. Make international friendships, learn, teach and make the best of what is on offer here. It’s been a decade since this event started. Not many events survive that long. Come alive, and enjoy!

    Very interesting…
