Why are we so NEGATIVE ?

July 31st, 2008 2:01 am by Irreplaceable

“Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?”

“Why are we so NEGATIVE?”

“YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don’t work, the railways are a joke, the airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?”

“Everybody is out to abuse the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.”

Let us We can discuss the questions and statements!

These are extract from what is said to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s speech. Irreplaceable thought it would help the constant whiners to some extent.

You may have received as mail forward, read it on the Internet. If you search you will see it’s duplicated at several blogs, forums etc. It’s hard to know where the script originated.

I hope we could trust someone at IITB.

“YOU say that our government is inefficient: Who said that ? Not me. Dr. Manmohan singh’s government is not too bad. Scored 60% (B+)

YOU say that our laws are too old: What is the proble iwth old laws ? Isn’t Magna Carta (13th century stuff) still not relevant ?

YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage: They do, in my street. they also swept the streets every morning.

YOU say that the phones don’t work: Who still use landline. Mobile service is okay
,the railways are a joke: Not is you travel by AC First Class
    the airline is the worst in the world: Arn’t Jet Airways, Sahara also “our” ailine. I agree Air India is lousy, but Indian is not too bad, again if you travel Business Class;
mails never reach their destination: Who still use post office these days. E-mial do reach their destination, don’t they ?
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs: Other way round, some peopel feed themselves with dogmeat.
We are not too bad. It is not EU class , but peoples in Zimbabwe, Myanmar and North Korea probably envy our freedom, organised chaos and spicy food and exotic dances.

Why is he so negative that he’s only pointing out the negative side of Indians. There are many many Indians living a healthy positive life. Why don’t he mention them instead? Catch22 anyone?? :)

Chham,i hope you’ve read the entire message and if not it would be enlightening for you if you’re willing to go through the 8th para once more.

As you can see,he did mention the positives and then cited with examples how we can turn the negatives to positives.I know u understand the message, and i don’t doubt that you’ll make a good critic,so go for it. :)
