New Delhi: If you break traffic rules, you may end up being a traffic cop! That’s a Delhi court’s unique punishment to a man who admitted to drunk driving.
Deepak Gupta is lucky he’s not in jail. He was caught for drunken driving after he lost control of his car and rammed into a Delhi flyover. The matter was taken to court and Deepak confessed to drunk driving.
Instead of sending him to jail the metropolitan magistrate gave him an unusual sentence.
Deepak has to manage the traffic at the Kalkaji circle in Delhi for 10 days in June.
And it looks like Deepak has already learnt his lesson. “I’ll never drive drunk again and no person should ever drive drunk,” he said.
This is the first time such a sentence has been given and the magistrate’s reasoning is that the sentence will make Deepak aware of the hazards of drunken driving.

good on the judge. I think the judgement is not hard enough. We all have to learn to be responsible drivers, and there should be more awareness campaign about drunken driving. Most accidents are caused by driving under the influence of alcohol…………
