CM’s lost dogs cause of complaint for two

AIZOL TIMES –

Aizawl Aug 23: Straying animals had not caused as much furor in the past as that of Chief Minister Zoramthanga’s dogs kept in his much talked-about Aii Puk farm in Neihbawi for which two people, accused of taking the dogs, have demanded compensations for the physical abuse they have supposedly received from the CM’s personal security guards.

Several local dailies today carried the story of how two persons, Lalchhandama (22) and Kapthanga (30), both from Neihbawi hamlet near Sihphir, had been arrested by the Bawngkawn police on the night of August 15 accused of having something to do with the dogs being lost.

These papers said the two accused were not even informed that they were being taken in by the police and only knew they had been arrested when they were incarcerated in two separate lock-up cells at the Bawngkawn police station.

Quoting the two persons, the papers said while the Bawngkawn police personnel had been polite in their interrogations, two PSOs of the chief minister had slapped, beaten and kicked them and that they were now demanding compensations for the physical abuse they have endured.

The two accused were eventually released on August 18 after the dogs, said to be six of them, came home by themselves. It is believed that the dogs had strayed too far afield into the jungles and could not find their way home.

An adviser of the Neihbawi Welfare, identified as Zira, was reported to have told reporters that even though the village council had ordered all domestic animals kept on leash or confined, the CM’s dogs were allowed to roam free anywhere they liked and that they had become nuisance for the village folks.

I think even CM Dogs knows that their master is the CM of Mizoram and that VC’s order cannot be enforced upon them.
Jokes aside… I feel sorry for these two guys, but i feel that this should not be made news just because it involves CM. 100’s of such cases will be there in mizoram (if research being done, i believe). Let them go to the court and file a case. Lets treat this as a general incident that some dogs were missing so Police took 2 suspected persons into custody but those dogs were found again so these two guys are angry.
Note : I really condemn the PSO of CM slapping and beating the suspects. They should be charged.
